COLLEGE RULES & REGULATIONS

Preamble:

  1. These rules and regulations shall be cited as “Teso College Aloet School Rules” and shall apply to ALL students of the school during their entire stay in Teso College Aloet.
  2. Students MUST produce this document when being interviewed, counselled or advised by the student leaders, staff and Disciplinary Committee.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

All the Rules and Regulations stipulated here are based on the following guiding principles;

3. SCHOOL MISSION: “To prepare all our students for their further education, training and professional careers through a well-rounded education rooted in the core moral values of service, obedience, honesty and integrity.”

4. In this school, a student owes a duty to himself, his parents, his school and his country to do his best at work, games and all other activities. He should cooperate with staff and fellow students for his own good, the good of the school and of society at large.

5. No student shall, by word or deed, do anything to cause harm to himself, his fellow students or to the good name of the School.

6. Promotion of patriotism and respect for human rights is important.

 7. Timely correction of a student eventually provides an avenue for improvement and achievement of higher education and social goals.

 8. The School Management shall enforce these rules and regulations to ensure the wellbeing of all students. Offenders shall be punished whenever they infringe on the welfare of others. In order to protect the School, perpetual offenders may be recommended by staff to the Board of Governors and Commissioner of Education for exclusion.

1Reporting and breaking off from schoolReporting after the 2ndÊday of opening term
1.1All continuing students shall report to school on the 1stÊand 2ndÊday of opening term.
1.2New students shall report to school as stipulated in the Admission Letter.Failure to report as stipulated on the Admission Letter
1.3All students shall enter or leave school through the main gateÊONLY.Entering through other passages
1.4Students shall report to school between 8:00am and 5:00pm.Reporting after 5:00pm
1.5A student shall declare an Admission Letter or permission chit and a bank slip, sign the arrival book and register at the Registration Desk.Failure to declare and sign at the gate
1.6A studentÊmustÊdeclareÊALLÊpersonal property at the Registration Desk to designated staff for thorough checking and clearance.Failure to declare property and submit oneself for checking
1.7Continuing students must report or leave school in full uniform.Failure to wear the school uniform
1.8Students on holiday or authorized leave must report back within 14 days of due date.Failure to report within the specified period
1.9No Student shall break off from school unofficially.Leaving school without permission
2OBEDIENCE AND RESPECT
2.1Obedience:Students of Teso College Aloet MUST obey the Head Teacher, Deputies, Assistant Head Teachers, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, studentsÕ leaders and the general community.Behaving in a manner intended to ridicule or embarrass a person in authority

2.2Respect:A student of Teso College MUST respect himself, all those in the school authority, and the community of Teso College.Behaving in a manner intended to ridicule or embarrass a person in authority.

2.3A student shall show respect to the National Anthem, other anthems and National Emblems, by standing at attention and singing properly to show love of country.Careless posture

3TIME MANAGEMENT
The students shall be punctual in school functions and move quickly in an orderly manner at all times.Coming in late

4PARTICIPATION IN SCHOOL FUNCTIONS
A student shall participate in all school programs or routines, including house meetings, house parties, Compound cleaning, house inspections, Roll Calls, General Assemblies, prayers, meals, awards, visitations, meetings and co-curricular activities.Failure to participate in, attend or adhere to programs and routines

5ACADEMICS
5.1All students shall participate in all school academic programs and attain the required average: Passing Marks of 45% for ÔOÔ and ÔAÔ Levels (8 points for both Arts and Science).Failure to attend any of the activities

6MONEY
6.1School FeesFailure to present a bank slip
A student shall pay fees to the bank before he reports to school and present the bank slip to the Registration DeskPresenting a forged bank slip
6.2Pocket money.Keeping money with self or any person other than the Bursar
A student shall keep money with the school BursarÔs office for safe-keeping.
7UNIFORMSWearing un prescribed attire.
7.1A student shall wear prescribed school uniform at all school functions and when going out of school with permissionwearing prescribed uniform in a wrong place and at a wrong time
7.2A student shall wear games uniforms during games time in the play groundabuse of uniform includes wearing open shoes during school functions, loose trousers and or no belt, open buttons, earrings, necklaces, bungles and other jewelery, jumpers/jackets, hanging shirt (untacked in, tattered clothes, hats/caps
7.3A student shall wear out of class uniform after class time

PLEASE NOTE :

  • A student who earns a definite suspension shall not be given any more suspensions. He shall be recommended to the Ministry for exclusion if he commits another offence.
  • The School Administration shall enforce these rules and regulations for the good of all students, parents, guardians, society and the Nation at large.
  • The student who does his level best to adhere to the school routine, programs, rules and regulations, stands to benefit from Teso College Aloet for his own future, and shall be the pride of his parents, school and Nation.
  • Parents and guardians shall be encouraged to continually play a role in assisting the School Administration in guiding the students to achieve the desired educational goals.
